“Music is a world within itself, with a language we all understand.”
The quote above by American singer and songwriter Stevie Wonder captures the essence of what music education can do to empower the individual student.
Whether through creating, listening, or sharing music, we all engage in music in some way shape or form during our day-to-day life.
Music helps us not only connect with others around the world but can also give us a unique voice to express ourselves creatively.
Which, to me, is the greatest lesson any musician or educator can instill within their students.
I’m so excited to be working with young musicians for New Groove’s virtual summer camp, our Music Empowerment Camp this July 12-16th!
Our half-day virtual camp runs from 9-12 pm, and gives students the chance to connect with musicians and peers to create a memorable musical experience!
The camp will be focused on helping students become more confident and independent creatives through music, regardless of their musical background.
Throughout the camp, students will be engaging in a multitude of different musical activities centered around movement, listening, creating, and performing. Students will learn about mindfulness in music and also be allowed to collaborate with others through different musical activities and performances. Camp members will also receive a Camp Kit filled with an assortment of music-related arts and craft activities for students to engage in during each day of the camp.
We here at New Groove Music Studio are always looking to engage people of all ages and backgrounds in a creative and fun musical environment. Where individuals can grow and develop musically in a supportive music community. So if you or someone you know loves music or are looking for a new creative outlet this summer, please feel free to reach out to us and learn more about our upcoming summer camp!
